    AVI has a 1GB limit, BVR allows viewing while recording and doesn't have the limit. You can set a limit for each BVR file based on size or record time.     What is the power consumption on it with that load? Which CPU did you end up going with? Also, what resolution and frame rates are you using?

    Go into alert settings under the cameras and do a test send for each of the configured alert options. This will at least test the settings in the alert fields.

    Under the user settings. Make sure you have "view recorded clips" checked. Since you are probably the admin of the system you can give access to all the features.

    Several plant types that spiders do not like near the cameras will help. I have heard that Citronella drops on or near the cameras works. Maybe plant some citronella near the camera?

    I had a similar issue several years ago. It was the power supply. Most other hardware issues would cause a reboot via a blue screen, etc, not a shutdown.
