yeah the eye has a definite tendency to think that contrast = sharpness. Should note that a truly fair test of image quality would be to make sure there's not some additional image processing (it looks like sharpening to me) being applied to the Annke that could maybe be turned off or modified...

The Annke is definitely more contrasty (and maybe more saturated) but that's not necessarily meaning you're getting a better picture (more information on the scene). You can see that the darks go to black in the Annke vs still having some color detail in the Dahua, for example. Ultimately...

Looks decent - maybe not quite as nice a pictures as the Annke but not bad. Googling, it looks like Annke is 85 degree FOV vs. 100 degree for the K35A which fits with the images shown. Did you have to do anything weird to get it running w/ BI? Any updating to firmware needed?
