HIK.NVR 7608, What is? SADP 192.1.0.64 can't ping or browser access from 254 net

Laptop connected to one of the 8 192.168.254.n ports, SADP shows 001 ... Active, 192.1.0.64, port 8000, IPv4 gateway 0.0.0.0 and http port 80. Clearly I am missing out on some knowledge. Browser can't access it, and I can't ping it. What is it? Do I care? I have fixed IP for the NVR...

    New Hikvision NVR DS-7608NI-I2

I don't have a PTZ, but the NVR came with a well featured remote control for PTZ. My source was on the web, hdsecuritystore.com in NY. They have personal tech support that has impressed me two times in two years. I also had a warranty claim that they promptly handled.

How? Configure NVR to permit iVMS-4200 access to the 254.n IP

Sorry, I was so excited, I did not get my fingers in gear with my joy! It is iVMS that is working, not SADP.

How? Configure NVR to permit iVMS-4200 access to the 254.n IP

That works! great! Thank you. I found a useful post by you Oct 2014, https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/1604-Hikvision-POE-LAN-segment-access-to-cameras-without-virtual-host-or-extra-wiring?highlight=ip_forward and trying to use router to define 'Static Route" as per description. I...

How? Configure NVR to permit iVMS-4200 access to the 254.n IP

When I set Virtual Host check-box, I get window: "port", has 65001. Is that ok? Camera uses port 8000. The check-box has empty space above, labeled Multicast IP. What is the significance? So far, Ping, and SADP, and net scanner does not see the PoE port.

How? Configure NVR to permit iVMS-4200 access to the 254.n IP

I notice the NVR has a "internal NIC" of 192.168.254.1. I think that is how the PoE ports are made private. (?) explain? MY NVR is DHCP and has IP from my router 192.168.1.1, and gateway of 192.198.1.1 All is well with the 254.n cameras. If I attempt to change internal NIC to 192.168.1.1, I...

Activated IP CAM, Rest to default did not rest password to default

The solution was the password of the NVR! (sheepish grin). I tell the grand kids, never be afraid to try things. Life is trial and error, mostly error. That's how we learn.
