In my imagination, I was actually thinking about a Sci-Fi movie called Oblivion with Tom Cruise. An off-world AI entity called 'Sally' annihilated Earth. Did she secretly update the firmware in our security and other computing systems? . . .so we wouldn't see her 12-mile fly bys? ho...
Yes, but this video was pulled off a data card. I went to H.264 for that to make my data backup data card videos usable. I posted this only for its entertainment value after a facebook upload converted the video for me.
It looks like it could be coming out of a worm-hole portal in an out-of-phase state, but it is really an example of H.265++ video compression corruption and then playing the resulting video back without a suitable H.265++ decoder in the player.
My knowledge of javascript is more than a little bit stale, but I'm thinking that javascript doesn't really have anything to do with java which was often installed back in the day. Web browsers used to have javascript interpreters built into them, so java and javascript are two separate things...
Thank you. With that information I was able to mitigate the problem by touching the times in the camera settings. I turned off DST, turned it back on and then switched back and forth between 12hr and 24hr modes a couple of times. That got my cameras back in my VMS for now.
I'm now guessing...
Running firmware V2.800.0000026.0.R, Build Date: 2022-08-22
Did anyone else see anything similar?
Rebooting the cameras and restarting the VMS service did not help. The NXwitness VMS can no longer authenticate to (only) these 2 cameras. Logging into the cameras via Chrome works fine. All...
Using wget version 1.20.3 running on Linux solved the authentication problem I described. This was tested and verified on my 5831s, 5442s as well as my new production IPC-Color4K-T all running the most current Dahua branded firmware.

aside: As much as I would prefer to use Andy's...
I suspect this is going to be a digest authentication standard version issue where my older Windows version of wget may not understand whatever digest standard my newer Dahua branded firmware is using.
I'll try a newer version of wget from one of my Linux boxes.
Thank you. I am also running that firmware. Although I had been running DahuaSunriseSunset ver 1.4, I installed 1.9.0 and was unable to get it to work with my new IPC-Color4K-T. The url calls that work in a web browser are clearly different, APIs, but that is a separate problem. I'm sure I...
Thank you. I am using the API per the post you mentioned. My wget command isn't authenticating to the camera as expected.
I posted details in the thread I linked to above. I thought people following this thread might be interested, because it pertained to this camera.

Has anyone tried using the wget and sunwait utilities to switch modes on this camera?
I'm trying that now, but I'm having trouble getting wget commands to authenticate to the camera. That is documantied in this thread:
Program for flipping cameras to day/night on Linux
