The playback on the NVR console is fast and easy. With a browser and this NVR, I have to use IE with a patch and it does not let me playback as easily. In fact, it's downright difficult. Hikvision leaves out one of the most important features of an NVR (snapshot), so I am looking for other...
I have one but not with that amount of storage.
Do you have the latest firmware? I'm at 3.4.106 Build 191009.
That might affect storage size because it did fix a lot of other bugs and add SMART monitoring, but it's Hikvision, so no guarantees and asking them might be an exercise in futility.
Hello All. I need a recommendation for a Hikvision and ONVIF compatible NVR with a snapshot feature.
What I require is the ability to review video at the console (scan/jog) to a particular day/time/frame, pause and manually save a snapshot out to a usb thumbdrive or network NAS.
Right now I...
In typical Hikvision form, I spent a lot of time trying to fix something that was actually in the GUI.
I had the camera set for "Outside". Why? Because it was outside.
After all I did, I started going through the GUI pages over and over and by chance, I selected "Inside" for my outside camera...
New information. I found the configuration tool that uses the advanced sdk to get at all the settings on these. I was able to fix the NTSC/PAL issue and some other things. I was however, NOT able to change the zoom limits. They are listed and viewable, but not changeable using this tool...
So, for anyone still watching this, I found something out. The digital zoom on the camera in question is actually enabled by selecting the "start digital zoom" in the live view, but it is NOT triggered by the PTZ zoom reaching Z004 and then switching to digital zoom. It requires selecting the...
It was new, but my old stock. A backup replacement. All I can think of is to swap it with another cam where the zoom distance isn't as critical, unless someone has an idea how to hack into it and fix it.
So in the diagnostic listing, I found that the cam shows PAL as the video type instead of NTSC. Additionally, does anyone know of a way to go back to a lower-level firmware? It refuses to reflash with an earlier version. Any ideas appreciated.
Hi All. I have several unbranded DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3's (wireless equipped but disabled).
I've had no problem upgrading the firmware from the EU site.
V5.6.18 build 210428 seems to be the latest version and it works fine on all my cams EXCEPT one!
The 4x optical zoom normally goes from "Z001"...
You have to configure each of the cameras and make sure you can view them from a monitor attached directly to the NVR.
Then you can access the NVR remotely using Hikvision's software, or preferably by using IE Tab inside Chrome.

There is also newer firmware V3.4.106...
I understand, and that makes sense as sub is less resolution, etc., but the ones that are onvif are amcrest and I have both main and sub configured on each. The balance of the cams are hiks using hik proto. If I put it into 4x4, it only shows the first 8 cams in live view and balance just show...
Just a little update and some major weirdness...
I installed some more cams today and I was able to add them as ONVIFs. Static IPs. They are all there in the list, but in the realtime display, I still have 8 cams and I still can't add the 9th in the bottom-right corner. I just happened...
This is all on the display screen plugged into the nvr. I had spoken with Hik support way back when I discovered this and I was told that I could use ivms-4200 to connect to the nvr and that app can do snapshots, which is an f'n stupid workaround imho. Of course, under w10, I can snapshot...
