I might finish up doing that. It drive me barmy. I can't figure out how it works. It has sat there for about five years and all we do i check the recorded movement stuff when there seems a need. Caught a car thief that way. But if I ever knew how to set up cameras on it - and I must have...
Years ago I bought an unbranded nvr from you to go with my recently purchased dahua cameras. It always comes up with an 'unlock pattern' where we have to draw a continuous line through an array of 9 buttons.
I have forgotten the pattern.
I can get into it via the onscreen keyboard on usb...
Ho ho ho.... relax everyone... it IS working !
I just clicked where it should be in the smart pss screen a few times and got messages flashing up and going away saying 'this video is being requested' and then suddenly gawdamn if it didn't start streaming...
so it's a goer. beautiful. I...
what's the point of using 2A if it 'needs' PoE ?
are you saying it CAN use the power line if we give enough power?
I just gave it plenty of power. 12V with 5A available. It's not interested.
I very vaguely remember reading something interesting all those years ago about that 12v line...
the setup is now: camera > ethernet line (a PoE line) > EoP adapter > house wiring > Eop adapter > ethernet line > nvr which can't work because it leaves the camera unpowered.
what was working well before was: house wiring > EoP adapter > ethernet > nvr > ethernet PoE >...
by didn't work I meant it doesn't show on smartPSS-lite. which it did until i did what I've just done.
the power supply is marked 12v 1.5A pos centre
the cam says 12v 1A/poe
are you saying you can confirm that's power it and it should work?
I have the thing outside. it used to be inside. to...
Yep, it's PoE. But if you've got no PoE and it's going to be two weeks before a PoE injector arrives in the mail what can I do?
Why do I ask?
Because it has a tail marked 'power'.
I assume that's power in?
Hope so. I stuck 12v on it and it didn't work. Hope it didn't break it.
Why would a...
Most I've ever been able to find I think is that which I just got now from it's 'web service':
Device Type: NVR
Record Channel: 4
SN: 3JPAZ9EF505A730
Web Version: 3.2.3.84176
Onvif Client Version: 2.4.1
System Version: 3.215.0000000.0, Build Date: 2017-08-07
Pretty ancient there, eh...
yep. that's the one. pull the thing apart and short 1 and 2.
sounds a bit hard and problematic to me.
I can see the camera, get its feed, with smart pss lite.
it does that somehow. I don't know how. got the details from the nvr I suppose. for years it was connected to the nvr.
but i can't...
I just got smart and shifted my ethernet wiree Dahua cam outside and moved the lower res Dahua wifi cam inside.
Which meant disconnecting.
The ethernet wired cam is working fine.
The wifi cam I cannot access. The nvr will not communicate with it without the username password.
I've no idea and...
Well thanks for that - it's news to me about the ability of pc's to run 24/7/52.
I've lost two Asus motherboards due to fan failure - onboard fans they were. To be fair the Asus software notified me they were on the way out and I didn't react quick enough. And I've had another two at least...
HI. I don't know about push notifications. I haven't got a smart phone. Well I do but I never use it.
I find I've got two Foscams still running. Spotted another one here today. Just saying. Also got 3 that died. :)
Big thing is storage I think. No matter what the cameras see or how well...
No mention here of Ispy. It's a free Blue Iris.
I was able to get connections via Ispy when my Blue Iris wouldn't make one.
And Contacam. I used for a long time. I could make connections with it that Blue Iris and Ispy wouldn' t make. I actually had more pleasure and smooth ability with...
We have a very cheap 'Orion' IP cam that uses Grid Connect and our home Wifi Lan.
Works fine. Good picture. sound a bit horrible though. But that's okay.
The thing is we'd want to see it from outside the home.
The instruction thing doesn't give this a mention.
The box says 'See and speak...
