Hikvision cam adding to DVR but not NVR

Good day everyone,

I have 5 DS-2CD1357G0-LUF and my plan is to use the HIK-DS-7608NI-K1/8P.

I plugged them into the a network switch connected to my DVR and I used the SADP tool to configure it.

They showed up using the web login (attached pic). The NVR is on the same network and I am plugging the camera directly into the NVR port and the cameras are not showing up.

Any advice for a newbie?

Need to make sure that the camera IP can be infact Hijacked by the NVR if it can't as some will not take over the IP then you would need to setup the IP to work with the IP Switch of the NVR.. So currently your camera is showing it is at 192.168.10.100. What is the expected IP address for the NVRs Switch? 192.168.?.? or is it 172.16.?.? that might be the issue?

If cameras are connected to the network switch, it needs to be connected to the WAN/LAN port not the camera port of the NVR. Most NVRs will only recognize one camera per camera port.

I'm connecting the one camera I'm testing directly onto the NVR channel one if you will.

The easiest way to connect Hikvision cameras to a Hikvision NVR is to reset the camera to an 'inactive' state, then connect the camera to an NVR PoE port that's in Plug&Play mode. The NVR will 'activate' the camera and connect it automatically.

Looking up the NVR I don't see anywhere that it is ONVIF in the datasheet, I am not saying that isn't but if the cameras are OEM the cameras might not work on that NVR that is looking for pure Hikvision cameras?

I just plugged another model cam in and it works fine.
