One is a 4K-X bullet the other is a new 5442H-ZHE bullet.
They each have primary duties but being on either side of the house, I'm able to also use them as spotters for the street

I'm looking to add some cameras specifically for spotter duty, but didn't want to break the bank for such a use case item. Any recommendations for cheaper varifocals with AI? I was considering IPC-T5241H-AS-PV, if Andy still has some on his cheap list, but not sure if 3.6mm will get me where I need to be, especially at night.

Whats the consensus on this as far as auto tracking is concerned? Is this the best Andy has to offer currently?

I only have 4 days of testing so hard to say, but I dont think its any better in tracking than the $1600 6 series I have. I think its a great little PTZ for its size and price (about $400).
Its just a damn shame they didnt put a 1/1.8 sensor in it as the 1/2.8 sensor is simply inadequate at night in ANY 4MP camera IMHO

I havent used one but Im betting the SD5A425GA-HNR is a better camera. No idea on price..

It has the latest autotracking version on it, but I am sure some of the other cams (minus the 49225 and 49425) probably have had firmware updates on it to be the same.

There are parts of this tracking that are incredible - it seems to be predicting an objects pace and can continue tracking after an obstacle (car, tree, post, etc.) temporarily blocks the object.

But when I compare it to my 49225 and 49425, there have been instances where the 49s continued tracking and the SD4A didn't and vice versa. As we know there will always be instances that tracking is lost. They probably even out over a week to the same number of misses.

Yeah, with the 1/2.8" sensor and the IR not being as strong, they should have put it on 2MP instead of 4MP. Or put 1/1.8" sensor on it for 4MP.

I agree on the damn shame part. This cam is about the max size I am willing to deploy for my uses. Those bigger ones that everyone talks about just will not work for me.

I will probably grab one at @EMPIRETECANDY sale, if it is a good price, and test it out in each of the possible places. Here are two below that currently have 2MP on 1/2.8" sensors. There is a lot of light, so maybe it will work.

Sure any of the less expensive models with AI will work. Best to get a VF so you can be sure to reach the target area

What about the 2241 series?
IPC-HFW2241T-ZS
Ideally I would be looking for a turret, but I know I am limited on the zoom versus a bullet. I will check those out.

This client must be a reseller who see good prospect with this camera model and price that he can sell for much higher profit. :thumb:

I think SD4A425DB-HNY mini ptz is a good choice for many people because of size and discreet nature of the design. I wish Dahua and Hikvision will have more options for small profile cameras like this mini ptz for non professional who wish to have good auto tracking and decent zoom ptz, but not too big or look intrusive for residential customers. There are not many mini ptz like that, it's either big and powerful or small 3X-6X zoom with no auto tracking.

@looney2ns will bring a blue and red alarms PTZ again, also have autotracking, but only 5X. Will release the review when we do more testing on it.
