Hi guys.
I first set this camera up approximately 6 months ago and it was working fine for several days after just plugging and playing. After doing so I took it down and have been storing it ever since. I attempted to start and connect the camera back to the same nvr as before and have no connectivity. Power is running without issue to the camera. The issue that I am having is I cannot get the nvr / sapd to recognize and find the camera on the network. I can see the nvr lights blinking but not as repeatedly as my other cameras. I tried using Hik-connect and the program days the device is offline. I then connected the camera through lan directly into my router and also my pc and still cant find the camera on SADP. I tried pinging the camera at 192.169.1.64 and 192.0.0.64 and no luck. I cant seem to find what up address the camera might have. I did not update any firmware. I'm basically clueless what I can do to have this camera connect or atleast be visible on my network. Any help is appreciated.

NVR PoE port? You'd have to connect the PC to an unused NVR PoE port to see the camera.

Presumably powered with a 12v DC supply instead of the PoE on the NVR.
Did the link detect light come on, flash periodically?

To answer you first question yes. I connected the camera to the NVR and then connected the pc to a open port on the NRV and could still not see the camera. I can still see my other camera that are operational. And the lights on the port on NRV where the camera was connected to were flashing but not continuously like my working cameras.
To your second question yes I connected the camera to my router using 12v power supply and it was flashing intermittently on my router. But I could still not find my camera on SADP
 
Did you upgrade this camera's firmware recently?
 
Forget I said that...you'd know if you had...there are many steps to that process.
 
Ok. I'm fairly new to ip cams but I like to think I'm quite knowledgeable when it comes technology. I just would love to figure out a way how to get this camera back to its functioning state

Assuming that camera has a reset button on the back - maybe try resetting to defaults.

The usual method with a reset button is - with the camera power off, press the reset button, power on and keep the button pressed for about 30 seconds.
Then with the PC connected to either an unused NVR PoE port if the camera is connected to the NVR, or with the PC on the LAN if the camera is also on the LAN, check is SADP can see the camera.
If it finds it, it will show as Inactive, and give you the option to Activate it with your own choice of strong password.

I havent tried that reset method yet. I'll try it when I get home. Thanks.
 
Just tried to reset the camera three different times and still no luck. Power is still running to the camera with the ir Boot lights on but SADP is still not finding the camera
 
Some thoughts. Have you tried a different ethernet cable? Are you sure the reset was successful? Unplug cable to camera, hold down reset button, plug PoE injector cable back in, wait 11 secs then release reset button (you should hear a soft click sound from the camera a few seconds after you release the reset button). Checked the RJ45 connector on the camera is not damaged or obstructed?

I've tried 3 different ethernet cables with no luck. I've also checked the rj45 connector and it appears to be clean and in working order. I've also tried to reset the camera numerous times and appear to have no luck on that end either. Further more I've opened the camera, disassembled it, and re assembled it with also no luck at all. SADP still cannot find the camera and my nvr isnt recognizing the camera, all my nvr says is detecting the ip camera
 
Update:

After purchasing a PoE switch I am able to see that my malfunctioning ds-2cd2085fwd is showing up with an ip address of 192.0.0.64. I have tried a hard reset numerous times and still no luck. I then completed a TFTP update which was suposedly was completed successfully to the cameras original firmware. After doing the TFTP I thought I would be able to find the cam on SADP and still no luck. I've tried finding the cam on both my nvr and through my switch with SADP and still no luck. I also tried accessing the cam directly at its IP address 192.0.0.64 and I reach "ip address cannot be found."

The only visible issues that I can see on my switch and my nvr is that the led lights are both lit up (green and yellow) but do not blink constantly and repeatedly like my other working cams do.

Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? I'd rather not give up on this cam but I'm reaching my wits end with it and might just purchase a ds-2cd7a26g0/p-izhs to replace it. Thanks!
 
To try accessing the camera at 192.0.0.64 you'd need also to change the PC IP address to be in that range, for example 192.0.0.128
Is that how you tested access?
