Not to be anal (although I am), but the Dahua IPC-HDBW2300R-Z camera is a dome camera not a bullet.

P.S. It's wrong on your website too, and both cameras show out of stock. :(

Its nice to see motorized varifocal come down to this price point...Its a real pain to set it on the camera itself and there are occasions when a temporary change can be useful..

We have it listed as a dome. The Dahua IPC-HFW2300R-Z is the bullet.

They show out of stock because we haven't gotten them in yet but should have them today or tomorrow.

Absolutely, another winning point is the motorized lens is 2.8-12mm. On most other I've seen they were 4-9mm which isn't much of a zoom.

You do now, after you changed your website (you're welcome). It originally said "2.8-12 Motorized Zoom and Focus Bullet Camera" in the description on the website - just like it does in your first post in this thread. :friendly_wink:

Actually I'm more interested in the bullet version myself (not a big fan of non PTZ dome cameras), look forward to them being in stock and seeing some reviews on them.

No problem at all. The dome is actually fairly small for being a motorized varifocal. It's a little bigger than the Hikvision 2132.

I just tested it with GDMSS Plus and wasn't able to get it to zoom using the options on the app.

Howdy,
I received the cameras, and have table top tested. The IPC-HFW2300R-Z bullet connected and works properly with a Q-See QC8116 NVR. The default out of the box settings work and look good. Motion detect works, recording works, and the NVR controls the zoom and auto focus features. I will get them mounted in place shortly.
Thanks...

Thanks for the update Daybreak.

I'm glad everything is working out good.

If you get a chance post some captures from the camera!

Ryan,
Recieved my camera's today. I have 2 questions,

1) It appears that the Dahua IPC-HFW2300R-Z may have been pre-owned as there are some small scraches on the body and I noticed that the log file was cleared October 2014?? Seems to be working fine though.

and MUCH more importantly..

2) Do you know how to get the Zoom functions to work in BI?

I hope Dahua updates their APP so you can zoom in using your phone. I sold my 5mp motorized just because of that reason. Also, the speed of the focus was disappointing. How is the speed on these cameras?

It's pretty slow even on the highest setting, but I don't have a reference as to how fast it "should" be..

Not sure how to get it working on BI.

The app feature would be a nice improvement.

There type of cameras are not designed to be fast-basically designed to make installation easier or to change position once a day or so...i have an older hikvision 1.3mp motorized vari and it is slow as well.

I just noticed that both cams didn't have the RJ45 Protective boot?? My Hiks cam's came with them, do these outdoor cams not comm with them?
