Hi marku2
Another Aussie here. Can I ask where you purchased your camera from and price. You fitted the NSC-4A*** I take it. Seems amadacams don't stock the NSC camera.
Cheers
monaro...

Mine is the 2dea4220 I bought from Amanda cams I got five from her all working a treat I'm not sure what the nsc means

NSC is our "rebranded" model.

I purchased mine from China with English version and with shipping paid less than $500.00 total. It is giving some problems but I suspect with the learning curve of these cams along with Blue Iris it may take a little bit of time to become totally proficient . (But I'm working on it with the help of another individual who has made my life enjoyable. Knows BI inside and out). Good luck.
Occasionally my cams locks in a 90 degree position and stay there for a couple to several hours. After at least three hours they return to a reset position and presets and other functions perform as expected. It seems it has a mind of its own when they both decide to lock downward. Unable to determine what makes either cam software or BI software make the cam do this. Tried the washer between the plate thing and didn't seem to work.
Recorded times of day/night this does the lockdown thing, but as of yet, no pattern is emerging. Anyone else have this problem?

Oh - BTW this thing is quiet, you can barelly hear the PTZ in action - so much so that no one in the office has noticed it tracking them moving around!!!

hi bambi.
i received my camera today and its my first ptz . is it normal to hear what sounds like a fan that runs constantly when the camera is powered up. i dont mean the noise when using the ptz function but a fan noise that comes from within the camera even when its doing nothing. just a bit concerned that i received a faulty unit . but like i said its my first ptz so not sure if a fan inside the camera is supposed to be running all the time. i have not installed the camera yet just plugged it in to my nvr to do a initial setup and have a bit of a play. thanks

Just ordered 2 Cams : "DS-2DE4A220IW-DE" from an official reseller in England.
I asked if they had auto tracking and they said they have not, also contacted a dutch reseller who then contacted the distributor for BENELUX.
They also confirmed that the camera's have no auto tracking ability.

So I'm wondering what firmware you guys have installed on these cams , and that have a working auto tracking feature?
I really would like to have the auto tracking feature!

Regards,
Kurt

Hi Kurt, I have also purchased a DS-2DE4A220IW-DE, and I can confirm it does have auto-tracking even though the data sheet does not explicitly say so. I have not installed it and tested it in a real scenario yet, but from testing in my room it appears to track fairly well - at least on firmware 5.4.8.

I purchased mine from netview CCTV hear in the UK .they are authorised hikvision sellers. It does have auto tracking I've been using it for over a week.

I was looking to purchase this PTZ, anyone know what kind of 16 Channel NVR would enable the smart tracking feature if this smart cam ?

Thanks any suggestions where to purchase from? I was looking to purchase an actual Hik NVR not a third party recorder.

Just be careful with future firmware updates - while we're all enjoying the Auto-Tracking feature its not part of the offical spec so may be withdrawn.

@FrankMCN

Indeed !!
That is why I asked what firmware you all have installed on the "DS-2DE4A220IW-DE"

I guess the firmware of the NVR can be upgraded, not ?
NVR has nothing to do with the features of the camera itself ?

Historically I've never known the firmware on Hik NVR's to have that much to do with the IPC - infact as you've noticed there's remarcably little you can control outside of the IPC's own web gui.

I did not know that

I was used to use Dahua recorders, and with dahua everything was set on the NVR.
As I can read or what I understand is that that is not the way with Hikvision ? ( not received my cams yet )
So I need to configure the Cams instead of the NVR ?

I noticed when wdr is enabled and you start to pan and tilt the camera, edges to objects appear purple until the camera is static. Anyone else notice this ?

Simple functions such as changing dates, OSD locations, general brightness/contrast etc can be done via the NVR - more advanced functions - PTZ specific, BLC/WDR/HLC etc via the IPC web gui - just have a play and see what you can do via both.

No heard any noises like that - does it go away after the power sequence? Mine is mounted now, so I cannot hear anything from it.

Not sure they have fans in these as they are pretty sealed up.

Does it support h.265/265+ ?

Can someone upload please some video with zoom test in day and night mode ?
