This is a selection of firmware that Hikvision have published for the R0 series IP cameras.
The R0 series comprise model numbers in the form DS-2CD2x32x-Ixx where the xx denotes options such as IR, Sound, WiFi, SDcard
The camera models in the R0 series are listed below.
There is also a China-region model range DS-2CD3x32x-Ixx that has the same hardware and is firmware-compatible.
Things worth noting:
As of the 5.4.40 version of firmware, Hikvision introduced a 'downgrade block' to stop earlier major revisions of the firmware being loaded. This might be a response to the ability to recover from CN menus or a bricked state by using the tftp updater and 5.2.5 firmware.
The 5.4.41 firmware version is the first that Hikvision officially issued that had the infamous 'Hikvision backdoor' vulnerability fixed although this vulnerability appears to be also fixed in the 5.4.5 version.
There were many China-region cameras sold on-line with 5.1.6 or 5.2.8 firmware that were 'bricked' by updating with the 5.3.0 or higher firmware.
A fix for this was the @whoslooking '5.3.0 to 5.2.5 downgrader' and the 'MTD hack'. Check the stickies in the Hikvision forum.
A more extensive fix that fully converts these China-region cameras to EN / updateable is the 'brickfixV2' and 'enhanced MTD hack', also in the stickies of the Hikvision forum.
