Would a Properly Wired House for Security Cameras Increase its Value?

imho I would like to see new homes built with at least some cat5e pre-installed ..

smart home cabling should at least be an option before the drywall goes up

Our last two homes, plus our new one, so 3 homes I had to wire myself...our daughter just bought a new home, it was wired. But not all new homes are since alot people just use WiFi.

If wired, in new homes, there is a closet that will have a utility box with Alarm, and wiring most of the time...So if you don't see this box, no prewiring will be available...

IMO this is the answer. When my house was new 16 years ago, the only wiring was 2 telephone outlets and a lot of cable TV coax. Regular people are supposed to use only wifi and cordless phones. I can hardly think of anybody I know who connects their computer with a network cable. Cameras? Use wifi.

This is kinda funny, well to me. When our daughter bought their new home she got a 2Gig Internet service. Even though their home was wired with Ethernet Cable she was use to her WiFi Mesh Network from her previous home that she just connected WiFi. Anyway, she left her Mesh system in a box and used the new ISPs Router/Modem. Her first complaint was why she got such low speed on her PC when they had a 2Gig service. When I found she was using WiFi to connect I came over and got her wired up. 900+ down now.

Next, only 900 down??? She asked...haha, found that her new PC has a 2.5Gig NIC, but she had an old switch, so she ordered a reasonably priced 2.5gig switch. Well still 900 down, so I came back over again to find the Modem/Router the ISP provided only had 1k Ethernet Ports. LOL.

Not sure if the ISP has a 2.5gig port Router/Modem or not but she learned how solid a wired network is. I find this happens alot, ISPs are selling higher speeds to people who don't have the networks to handle the speed. My son got a 1.2gig service from Comcast but caps at 1gig due to his network.

But what if every house in a community has cameras?
They're/We are watching You!!! LOL So don't F-up/around...

Will say ever since I got on this Forum and got Cams, back in the big city, I saw several things going on at night I wished I would not of saw, thought we lived in a good neighborhood. But mainly was kids breaking in vehicles doing damage, which I guess is in every neighborhood these days.
