Why so many -FALSE-alarms? { PIR, Intrusion, LineCrossing } ??

the scene is static, except for
1) when I walk out/IN ( "Motion Detection" - twice)
2) change in natural-lighting,

although my NVR(gw804n) does NOT record those events,
the camera did send MANY emails (for testing) of the events ?

any ideas?

Is this NORMAL camera behavior?

that's the beauty of "PIR, Intrusion, LineCrossing " events :
_ Alarms/Triggers SHOULD NOT be affected by those extraneous motions

yes, click link in prior post to review CAM-settings ( motion area on-wall(sheltered from Sun) triggers accurately twice-remember?) ... PIR triggers seem patently false; Intrusion/LineCrossing alarms MAY be due to my-settings too-sensitive???

Could be. I gave up on PIR not because it wouldn't record but because I couldn't get it to integrate with my ddns push notifications. Definitely I would turn up sensitivity/threshold settings until it worked then back down from there.

After dark and calm, I did a 'lil more (unscientific?) experimentation of those three alarm/triggers.

Although I have NOT been successful in having them trigger the GV804N NVR recorder,
the camera does send the "expected email alerts" as a result of MY stimulus of those events.

So, I hypothesize that :
the sun, clouds, shadows, wind, branches, etc. apparently WILL
cause undesireable triggers of the PIR, Intrusion & LineCrossing detection.
Making those sensors ... not as useful as "hoped".

@oldtechy Sunlight can cause false alerts with a pir detector. Remember you are using an indoor camera outdoors and the sensor was not designed for that purpose. Line cross is not foolproof because the cam cannot distinguish between a shadow or human.
Consider using a quality outdoor rated pir sensor with the camera.

If you enable 'Rules', in the camera Local Configuration, you will be able to see in Live View why the camera is creating an event, and it may help in fine-tuning the settings.
But as you have a non-Hikvision NVR, it looks like you'd have to do this live by viewing the camera web GUI.
