Why is BI using my GPU when I have no hardware acceleration active?

Seems to happen now and then. Usually after a restart of the server.

Look in Task Manager on the performance tab to find out which part of the GPU is being used. Just having the local console rendering on a display connected to a dedicated GPU can cause some load on the "3D" graph (and consequentially somewhat less load on CPU). You also have Video Encode and Video Decode graphs which should only have usage if those hardware acceleration features are being used.

Thanks... Looking at Task Manager Bi shows 0% GPU use.

Client Server Runtime Process using 11.5% (3D), Desktop Window Manager using 10.8% (3D) both on integrated Intel GPU, System using 1% on separate video card.

So I guess BI is showing overall GPU use, not its own.

So what is the difference between encode and decode? When does BI use one vs. the other? Like if I am showing 0% encode but 38% decode, what is BI actually doing?
