Hi,

I have had this DVR for a few years and it has been and still is great . All 8 cams work.

Trouble is I see it has stopped recording. I checked and the HDD is full with no space available yet still set for enable for overwrite. Obviously hasn't done this.

Right when I need to see who set fire to the car on the street near us !

When I hit Update it says .. no update file so I guess I have to dload it first, But where?

Any help please?

I see the Firmware is T121583 MCIU-9234-OB-changshi But not sure where to check for the latest.

It is connected to the network and I see it all on my phone, but can I access the HD via my PC to get the files off the HDD.

Thanks

Why do you think an update would fix that?

The files wouldn't be in a windows format so pulling the HDD won't yield any usable results.

Hi and thank for the replies. I think I may have confused all of us, so lets start anew :-)

My DVR wasn't recording so I checked on the DVT menu and it was full even though the enable rewrite was on.

Some dude set fire to a car near us and the cops asked for any vision I may have.

I thought i might retrieve some vision with Disk Drill on my PC.

So connected the DVR HDD to my PC and Disk Drill did find many files but that you're correct couldn't read them.

I thought I'd connect the HDD back to DVR and format it to start afresh but now the DVR says there is no disk.

In PC Disk Mgmt I see it is there and has 4 partitions all Fat32 so assume it is correct but DVR says no HDD.

I assume it is a formant problem.

Suggestions please?

Sometimes the firmware or drive corrupt.

A factory reset of the DVR may clear and let you see the video if it is there, but more than likely you will have to reformat the drive as well.

In all likelihood it didn't record it.

That is why it is good to periodically check that it is recording correctly instead of waiting for an incident to happen and find out it wasn't recording.

Yes a factory reset will erase all your settings.

But if it isn't recording now, it isn't doing you any good!

Best to have the NVR format it since it is not a Windows based operating system.

Thank you. Yes I am tring to format ut in the DVR however it says there is no HD there. I've checked all leads and I can hear it whirring so it is alive, just the formatting I guess,

That's why I thought I could format it there.

I see 4 partitions in Win10.. FAT32 7.64 GB Primary | exFAT 912 GB Logic | 7.64 GB FAT32 Primary - | 3.79 FAT32 Primary All healthy

I have fixed it. It seems the Win10 FAT32 is not enough for tye Linux DVR. I took the drive out and as an external drive to a Linux box I have, formatted it. Then back in the DVR recognized the drive and asked to Format it again. I did and now it shows 985GB with 700 hours of recording available. Took me 6 hours to work it out but now I know.
