Where are you leaving the cameras connection?

I have at least one camera that is going to be installed with one of Dahua's wall mounts: PFB203W | Dahua Technology

Are you leaving you CAT5/6 to camera connection inside of the mount or pushing it back into the wall? I'm debating not drilling as large of a whole in one location and terminating the CAT5 cable after it passes through the hole.

You have space inside that mount to tuck the connection in there if you want. A little tight depending on the cam and how much cable but not too bad. Can do either way. Mine are all through brick so smaller hole better for me. Grease on the pins and seal the connection well and you’ll be good.

Hi @Looking Out

I had enough room to leave it in the PFB203W cavity ..

remember a drop of di-electric gel in the RJ45 socket ..

A perfect example of why you should never open a thread for the first time toward the end or middle-----ALWAYS start at the beginning! :lmao:
