When going from 3mp to 4mp should I get wider lense for the same POV?

I remember reading that higher MP camera have a more narrow angle. If I were to replace a 3mp with 4mm lense, should I get a 4mp 2.8mm lense to get the same wide angle view?

your going from 4:3 to 16:9, likely you'll get wider.. why dont you check spec sheets, they list the FOV typically.

but you shouldn't get 4MP, they suck when you need em the most.

Go buy a Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z) then you dont need to worry about what lens to choose, it comes with all of em.
