WDR cameras....is it worth it?

Seeing some camera's with a feature called 120db WDR.

What is this and is worth paying extra for?

From what I can understand, it seems this feature is good for areas with direct sunlight, which would normally cause everything in the foreground to go dark without WDR.....

Absolutely, WDR is worth it, especially in outside environments. I have older cams w/o WDR and the video is poor at best.
