@looktall thanks! This is a great idea. I'll meditate on how this will look with wiring and poe switch.

@samplenhold good catch! I think I'm staying the course with what I bought. The server will get in going and if I build to it's size, it future proofs me in more upgrade ebay options

Realize that the case you linked to has no provision for HDDs. I states:
Storage

  • None, case is designed for use of M.2 storage on motherboard
It was for example. Besides, its a no brainer to drill mount holes on the case or velcro tape them inside. Especially a 2.5" SSD system drive. And if the origignal swap bay wanted to be used , Two 6gb ports , use one for a SDD inside the case, and the four 3GB on the drive bay

Otherwise they can do something like below, and not jack with external swappable drives since Its not really needed.
