VTO2111D turn card reader off

Is it possible to turn the (rf?) card reader off?

I believe it is interfering with my gate's remote control.
When the VTO2111D is on, the remote control can open/close the gate only if it is about 4m away. When the VTO is off the same remote control works on up to 20m distance.
