VTO2000A snapshot / still image?

Hi,

I have a dahua vto2000a with stock firmware, I can view the rtsp stream fine, but cannot for the life of me get a still image or snapshot working

Have tried so many combinations from searching google etc.

Rtsp is:

rtsp:/username:pass@ip:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&unicast=true&proto=Onvif

If I try

http://ip/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?channel=1

I just get a login prompt which won't accept normal login details.

any help appreciated
