Some years back, I was sitting on my hardwood floor and fumbled my Samsung S4 and it dropped 18 inches from my hand to the floor, hit on a corner and broke the screen despite being in a case.

I had bought it used, so I wasn't out much money, but it still pissed me off.

I've had cell/smart phones since they came out and have yet to crack a screen. With the older ones I just replaced the battery but with the new ones that's not really an option unless you want to play with a heat gun and have a lot of patience. OtterBox Defender wraps, screen protector and a real, protective, phone pouch, not in the back pocket. I have dropped them a few times, but no damage yet.
