V4 as a backup..2 newer Dahuas keep dropping out

After having 2 interesting events happening and not being able to review them because of 1) unknown pc shutdown and 2) scheduled reboot at 2am missing an earthquake at 2:02am, I am attempting to have a backup. Long story short, on an old V4 version of BI, 2 newer Dahuas keep displaying "no signal" on and off continuously. Both pc are using the same configuration in BI but only the V4 BI is having the problem. Both pc are connected to the same wired network. Tried uninstalling the cams and adding back in and it still has an issue. Since the only difference in setups are versions of BI I may just purchase another license. Really trying to keep this backup cheap.

Why not correct the issues/problems with the current system?

I've disabled the auto install of security updates and I assume the 2am was a rebuild of the BI DB? If so change it, I have mine set to once a week and on a Sunday at lunchtime, a period when I'll most probably be at home and where missing some clips wouldn't be that much of an issue?
