Hi

I was thinking of using an Android TV as an NVR. Simply because you can install an android IP recording app, connect an external hard-drive, and continuously have it recorded locally.

Has anyone thought of this or had experiences doing this?

I'd appreciate any input :)

why?

Ive done ftp nvr on a ultra low power arm box w/an external hdd.. worked fine for what it was, they also have $35 NVR's (search: Super Mini NVR) that work with OnVif cameras if you just need something simple and basic.

AndroidTV would make an awfully poor NVR IMHO.

Thanks!

I have two Reolink IP camera's, and I've been told they're best used with their own NVR's - these are fairly pricey considering I'm only connecting two camera's to it.

I was considering attaching an externald Hard drive to the Android Box ..

Can you tell me why you think an Android box would make a poor 'NVR'? I'm only interested in local recording ..

Thanks. I will give it a try...

I do have a proper NVR already. Just throught about trying to run some sort of NVR on my Android Box as well.
