Really???

The Trump administration halted construction on a nearly complete offshore wind project near Rhode Island as the White House continues to attack the battered U.S. offshore wind industry that scientists say is crucial to the urgent fight against climate change.

Danish wind farm developer Orsted says the Revolution Wind project is about 80% complete, with 45 out of its 65 turbines already installed.

Despite that progress — and the fact that the project had cleared years of federal and state reviews — the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management issued the order Friday, saying the federal government needs to review the project and “address concerns related to the protection of national security interests of the United States.”

It did not specify what the national security concerns are.

President Donald Trump has made sweeping strides to prioritize fossil fuels and hinder renewable energy projects. Trump recently called wind and solar power “THE SCAM OF THE CENTURY!” in a social media post and vowed not to approve wind or “farmer destroying Solar” projects. “The days of stupidity are over in the USA!!!” he wrote on his Truth Social site this week.

Scientists across the globe agree that nations need to rapidly embrace renewable energy to stave off the worst effects of climate change, including extreme heat and drought; larger, more intense wildfires and supercharged hurricanes, typhoons and rainstorms that lead to catastrophic flooding.

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee criticized the stop-work order and said he and Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont “will pursue every avenue to reverse the decision to halt work on Revolution Wind” in a post on X. Both governors are Democrats.

Construction on Revolution Wind began in 2023, and the project was expected to be fully operational next year. Orsted says it is evaluating the financial impact of stopping construction and is considering legal proceedings.

Revolution Wind is located more than 15 miles (24 kilometers) south of the Rhode Island coast, 32 miles (51 kilometers) southeast of the Connecticut coast and 12 miles (19 kilometers) southwest of Martha’s Vineyard. Rhode Island is already home to one offshore wind farm, the five-turbine Block Island Wind Farm.

Revolution Wind was expected to be Rhode Island and Connecticut’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm, capable of powering more than 350,000 homes. The densely populated states have minimal space available for land-based energy projects, which is why the offshore wind project is considered crucial for the states to meet their climate goals.

“This arbitrary decision defies all logic and reason — Revolution Wind’s project was already well underway and employed hundreds of skilled tradesmen and women. This is a major setback for a critical project in Connecticut, and I will fight it,” Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, said in a statement.

Wind power is the largest source of renewable energy in the U.S. and provides about 10% of the electricity generated in the nation.

“Today, the U.S. has only one fully operational large-scale offshore wind project producing power. That is not enough to meet America’s rising energy needs. We need more energy of all types, including oil and gas, wind, and new and emerging technologies,” said Erik Milito, president of the National Ocean Industries Association, a group that supports offshore oil, gas and wind.

Green Oceans, a nonprofit that opposes the offshore wind industry, applauded the BOEM’s decision. “We are grateful that the Trump Administration and the federal government are taking meaningful action to preserve the fragile ocean environment off the coasts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts,” the nonprofit said in a statement.

This is the second major offshore wind project the White House has halted. Work was stopped on Empire Wind, a New York offshore wind project, but construction was allowed to resume after New York Sen. Chuck Schumer and Gov. Kathy Hochul, both Democrats, intervened.

“This administration has it exactly backwards. It’s trying to prop up clunky, polluting coal plants while doing all it can to halt the fastest growing energy sources of the future – solar and wind power,” said Kit Kennedy, managing director for the power division at Natural Resources Defense Council, in a statement. “Unfortunately, every American is paying the price for these misguided decisions.”
How many wind turbines does it take to match a single small-medium size Nuclear power facility?

I hope all the teams refuse to take the court. I hope this team with the man-lady wins the State championship by not playing a single game due to all the forfeits. Then they can all take their trophy and shove it.

As much as I HATE the IRS and any bloated, inefficient and over-staffed Government Agency, if they were fired/layed-off 'just because', then I TO would want to keep my severance package as well.
Oh hell ya they deserve it if they are being asked back. My point is the cluster that is our gubermint.

Reminds me of the time that AT&T was offering a similar type deal when they were asking for volunteers to reduce their headcount corporate wide. The dummies offered it to everyone when they should have just cut loose the loadstones. I took the severance package, X-weeks of pay, 401K fully vested, one year health insurance on a Friday then on the Monday after the weekend I walked right back into my office as a contractor earning twice of much money.

I'm missing the part of why the Christians waited until there was a parade of Jews going down the street. Seems to me they were up to mischief. The "in your face" antics deserve pushback. I really don't care what the "in your face" stuff is by any group. It's disgusting. Leave people be.

The Palestinian Authority's Human 'Slaughterhouse'
France, Canada, Australia, the UK and other Western countries that recently pledged to recognize a Palestinian state have said that their decision is "predicated" on commitments from the Palestinian Authority (PA) to undergo critical governance reforms, as well as excluding the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group from a future Palestinian government.

None of these countries, however, has demanded that the PA halt its human rights violations against its own people. Ending financial and administrative corruption and excluding Hamas from governance is pointless as long as the PA continues to crack down on its political rivals and impose severe restrictions on freedom of speech.

The Western countries continue to ignore statements by Palestinian human rights organizations regarding the PA's violations. These countries, obsessed with Israel, turn a blind eye to Palestinians' complaints against the PA, which controls large parts of the West Bank.

According to the Arab Organization for Human Rights in Britain, the PA's torture of its own people includes beatings with cables, pulling out nails, suspension from the ceiling, flogging, kicking, electric shocks, sexual harassment and the threat of rape.

The international media also ignore the situation. Their representatives prefer stories that implicate only Israel. It is hard to remember the last time a respected newspaper or media outlet in the West reported about human rights violations committed by the Palestinian Authority against its citizens. The failure of the international community even to notice such violations plays into the hands of the PA, and allows it to continue its crackdown on public freedoms and political activists in areas under its jurisdiction.

Recently, a committee representing families of Palestinians detained by the PA complained that their sons were being subjected to "severe torture" in prisons and interrogation centers.

The committee noted in a statement that the PA security forces are using "harsh and systematic methods against detainees that threaten their lives."

Exactly. There were no numbers associated with the first post.

Google is your friend

It sounds like they had 100,000, target cuts were to 60,000, they stopped at 76,000 and are now offering many their jobs back.

I don't think they have a precise number.

Trump Admin Poised To Block Visas for Palestinian Terrorists Appearing at Conference in Detroit
The Trump administration is preparing to block visas for Palestinian terrorists slated to appear later this month at the People's Conference for Palestine in Detroit, Michigan, which will feature a number of radical Palestinian activists, a senior State Department official told the Washington Free Beacon.

"Given the public invite lists seem to include a number of terrorist sympathizers, we are going through and ensuring all international speakers slated to attend the conference are being placed on a 'look out' status for visa applications, so we are alerted if a request is submitted and can ensure they are appropriately processed," the senior official told the Free Beacon.

While the official would not identify which of the nearly 40 speakers would be assigned special "look out" status, some are Palestinians who have spent years behind bars in Israel for conspiring to kill Jews.

Hussam Shaheen spent 27 years in prison for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He was released from prison just months ago, on Feb. 1, in a deal that exchanged Israeli hostages for Palestinian terrorists. Omar Assaf, a former member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, is also slated to appear, along with Lama Ghosheh, a Palestinian journalist from East Jerusalem. Assaf spent eight years in jail for his role in the DFLP terror group—a member group of the Palestine Liberation Organization—and Ghosheh received a three-year sentence from an Israeli court in 2023 for inciting violence and praising terrorism in the West Bank and Gaza.

Also slated to speak at the conference is Gaza-based poet Mosab Abu Toha, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his writings on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. Soon after, his extremist anti-Israel social media posts came to light.

"How on earth is this girl called a hostage? (And this is the case of most 'hostages')," Abu Toha wrote on Facebook. "This is Emily Damari, a 28 [year-old] UK-Israeli soldier that Hamas detailed [sic] on 10/7… So this girl is called a 'hostage?' This soldier who was close to the border with a city that she and her country have been occupying is called a 'hostage.'"

Free Beacon editor in chief Eliana Johnson, who served on the jury for a different Pulitzer Prize, raised Abu Toha's rhetoric with the awarding organization—which includes acting Columbia University president Claire Shipman as a board member—and the Pulitzer board falsely accused her of violating a confidentiality agreement instead of explaining whether it knew of Abu Toha's social media activity.

That's not a flag, you stupid bitch. It's a Star of David.

Just because it appears on the Israeli flag does not make it a flag, any more than putting a star on something makes it a US flag.
My that was diplomatic of you! Aside from politely pointing out the inaccurate description, did you have anything to offer about the issue of a state government providing this level of support for another country, or was it just to air your insult?

For anybody interested in the issue, look at:

It's either fact, or a very impressive counterfeit website. Sample snip:

This exactly. This is why Trump sent the navy down to South America. The scale of the corruption in some of these countries including Mexico is beyond anything their voters/citizens and do. If it had no impact on us then I'd say TOO BAD, SO SAD. Sadly, the actions of these narco-politicians have an impact on us. I suspect that the narcos are more than happy to welcome China as long as China can continue to line their pockets. The narcos don't care...they will sell everyone out including their countrymen.

To add, a big IF, if we can help these countries control their crime/corruption this would drastically slow down Political asylum crossings.

OK, I am awake from my dream now, what did I post? LOL, wow that was a pleasant peaceful dream, haha
