US Elections (& Politics) :)

At what point does this become elder abuse? Seriously, I couldn't stand the free loading POS Joe Biden, but this is bullshit. And you KNOW that family, Cough, Cough Jill Biden, is going to keep doing this shit for every freak'n nickle and dime until the old man croaks. THEN, they might even try a remake of 'Weekend at Bidens', I mean Bernies.

I don't know if its true or not...don't give a damn. Its the military, leave your bullshit civilian attitudes and thoughts on the yellow footprints when you join. If you weren't in the military, you can just fuck right off, IMO.

No disrespect here... it is true, it's been reported by all sorts of outlets. Whether or not it's necessary or a good idea will be debated now.

Personally, until I see evidence proving otherwise, I'm assuming it's "bullshit civilian attitude" coming from Hegseth... hopefully he has solid reasons for proposing/implementing this, but I'd guess his reasoning is not well thought out or researched, and he'd be more qualified to give advice on applying makeup or selecting stylish shoes and pocket squares.

Hegseth announces new policy to test troops for low testosterone

Over the past several years, special operations troops — and specifically Navy SEALs — have come under scrutiny for their use of testosterone and similar substances to enhance performance.

The death of a SEAL recruit during training in 2022 led to a discovery of substances in his possession, including testosterone, and revealed far more rampant drug use among the elite program than was previously acknowledged.

A year after the recruit’s death, the Navy said it would begin a drug-testing program to screen for “any hormonal substance, chemically or pharmacologically related to testosterone, that promotes muscle growth.”

The Pentagon did not respond to questions about what research or academic studies underpinned the move.

Right, the US is MORE vulnerable because "use of testosterone and similar substances to enhance performance."

This does hit home personally as my wife's young cousin died a couple weeks ago, probably as a consequence of illicit use of testosterone, and he was in the military.

Illicit use is different than doctor prescribed and monitored hormone replacement therapy. Contrary to idiot post-feminism BS, military might is powered by masculinity, and female participation is a reflection of that fundamental precept and not a refutation of it.

To be clear, assertion of masculinity (or femininity) isn't necessarily good. It depends on the circumstances and how the spirit of it manifests. Currently Islamism is on the rise due to the masculine principles that perpetuate the ideologies. It promises to threaten all civilizations with Sharia Law by force, and the only counter is... masculinity. There is no amount of bending over that counters such a force of nature.

That said, you and I both know that the effectiveness of our military likely does not come down to old dudes taking shots in the butt, and this is more performative than a practical solution. Perception drives real outcomes though. It's a thinly veiled message that military might derives from the masculine, and it's packaged as "men's health" in an attempt to fly under the radar. Like most politics, it's an emotional appeal rather than a rational one. The question then is whether it's directionally advantageous or not to the interests of the USA?

This should get the low IQ crowd all fired up and their mind off of:

The Iran War failure
Trump in the Epstein files
High cost of living
Congress attempted to merge our military with Israel
Impressive string of ICE murders
US debt rising exponentially
Lack of a healthcare plan and more cuts coming
President accepting bribes and profiting from insider information
Destruction of the WH grounds
And a host of other “silly” things

I'm not saying this would make the US more vulnerable, but as you say it could be detrimental to some soldiers.

If we know it's more performative than practical, don't our adversaries know this as well?

I understand the necessity for elite units in the military to be exceptionally well fit, but I just don't trust the guy calling for this. It's the same guy who's going on about beards and overweight generals. It seems like he should be worried about other issues, like drone technology, etc.

If soldiers were still swinging swords, all this masculinity stuff might make a bit more sense. :idk:

My god the Trump Cult is hopelessly stupid

He really is stupid. He’s recently learned how a 4 letter word is spelled and tells everyone once a week

Now you see why he connects so well with the sub <80 IQ crowd
