US Elections (& Politics) :)

What does extending/passing FISA have to do with the "save America act"? NOTHING. Why do they have to be passed in the same bill?... Because he is desperate to have "save America" passed but does not have the support. :winktongue:

He's at it again... still desperate to pass the Save ME Act... :nervous: ... so Luna's leading the march to shut down congress for him... :puke:

Trump cancels plan to sign major housing bill as he fights with Congress over the SAVE Act

“Today’s Housing News Conference and Signing is hereby cancelled until such time as we pass the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT, which I consider to be a National Emergency,” he posted on his Truth Social account.

Other House Republicans were dumbfounded by Trump’s decision, but spoke candidly on the condition of anonymity. “What a s--- show. ... Crazy crazy crazy,” one House Republican said in a text to NBC News. “A once in a generation housing bill falls victim to the nuts.”

Another expressed less surprise: “Trump did something outrageous to keep the spotlight focused on him. Shocker.”

A group of GOP lawmakers led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., have now vowed to block any legislation in the House until Congress passes the election bill.
The effort forced the House to cancel “rule” votes on Wednesday afternoon that would have brought several different bills to the floor this week.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Trump was “making such a fool of himself” by refusing to sign a bill that would make housing more affordable. But, he added, “It looks like even if Trump decides to veto it, there are probably enough votes in both houses to override that veto.”

The last override of a presidential veto was when he was a lame duck... imagine what he will do if they override him now?

The Memorial Reflecting Pool - A Century of Problems and Repairs
Swimming Pool Steve

Jun 26, 2026 #reflectingpool #washingtondc #constructionproject
Swimming Pool Steve was WRONG and in this video I explain what exactly I got wrong. I also take a step back to talk about he history of the construction and renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. I think understanding more about the initial construction, initial failures, initial remediation attempts as well as the most recent major overhaul in 2010 to 2012 will go a long way towards helping people contextualize just how many problems this pool has had over the years. The storied past of the reflecting pool is filled with sinking and leaking issues, half measure repairs and ultimately major changes needed in 2010 to finally address both the lack of a pumping and filtration system, but also to develop a support system to hold the pool structure without sinking or moving on the unstable ground where the pool was built.

May 28 2026 video where I had arrived at 3.8M gallons volume in the reflecting pool, time stamped to 6:40 where I discuss this: • The Washington Post Asked Me About the Ref...

Thank you to the incredible number of people who reached out with well wishes for myself and Uncle Joe. Your profound kindness was much needed and very much appreciated - thank you.

In this video, Swimming Pool Steve explores the long, troubled history of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and corrects previous misinformation he shared regarding its total water volume.

Construction and Historical Challenges

  • Initial Construction (1920): The pool was built over unstable, reclaimed wetlands. It suffered immediate issues with leaking and structural settling, which traditional waterproofing attempts failed to resolve (01:50 - 02:30).
  • 1929 and 1980 Repairs: Efforts to address leaks by pouring new steel-reinforced concrete slabs over the existing structure proved largely unsuccessful, as the ground continued to shift (02:30 - 03:30).
  • Uncontrolled Leaking (1980–2010): The structure experienced massive water loss, estimated at 500,000 gallons per week (03:38 - 03:55).

The 2010–2012 Major Overhaul

  • Stabilization: A $34 million remediation project was launched to address the unstable substrate. Engineers installed 2,133 wood piles driven down to bedrock to support a new, rigid steel-reinforced concrete structure (05:40 - 06:45).
  • Volume Change: During this renovation, the pool's volume was reduced from approximately 6.5 million gallons to about 4 million gallons (09:10 - 09:20).
  • Filtration System: The new system was designed to handle 2,500 gallons per minute, aiming for one full water turnover per day. However, Steve explains that the system rarely runs at full capacity to preserve the water's stillness and mitigate ongoing plumbing stresses (09:35 - 11:40).

Correction of Misinformation

  • Steve admits he was wrong for previously quoting a volume of 6.75 million gallons on various media outlets. He explains that his initial napkin math of roughly 3.8 to 4 million gallons (based on turnover rates) was, in fact, correct all along (08:15 - 10:40).

My Response To Tucker Leaving The GOP

My Response To Tucker Leaving The GOP

Tucker is right.

Voting is cute, but no longer effective. 99% of the GOP elected officials are just as bad as the Dems, and its gotten MUCH worse since the Grifter/Criminal Trump has taken over.

I think this guy makes more than a few straw man arguments and he is after all earning a living by clicks.
There is an effort against Tucker because he's not towing the MAGA/GOP line, and certain paid influencers, loyal to the party and/or Trump, are part of that.
