US Elections (& Politics) :)

I think the strategy to is get them to negotiate something that is fair. I think the reactions from both sides are a chess match. Trump is going to declared something "crazy" then they will and back and forth we go until we settle on something both sides can live with. Gonna be bumps along the way. I hope this jars the Pharma companies and others that they need to bring manufacturing back home. We are totally screwed right now was there are so many countries who can old us hostage because of our dependencies.
Yeah, but I believe Trump wants major defense deal with them. But he torpedoed that too when he used the threat of tariff to stop them from attacking Pakistan.

As for as Pharma, I remember seeing a documentary years back that how our Pharma companies sued and lobbied to make Indian drug companies to stop selling cheaper drugs here.
I think US drug costed $70k vs the Indian drug which costed like $2000 before it was pulled. So it was cheaper for the people in the documentary to actually fly to India and get treated where it costs even less there.

Its mafia type tactics. Do it our way or we'll put you out of business. Oh, and we get a cut.

Is this the new economic theory we'll be teaching in schools now? That free enterprise stuff was so old fashioned.

A lot of what we see happening that annoys people who live in the magical world of "everything is set in stone" is that Trump keeps changing rapidly. It gives the appearance they he's on drugs but I think a lot of what we are seeing is that he knows we need to take action to effect change. He takes action that he thinks would benefit the American people regardless of party affiliation. When he sees it's not working he makes rapid changes to get the desired effect. He and the rest of us are not mind readers. All you can do is try and push buttons until you hit the right button. It's better than setting policy and being stubborn and too proud to change.

Yes, he'd like to see American companies do well including the defense industry. But we can't simply give the military industrial complex the priority on everything. Oh well, military industrial complex loses on that deal in the short run. India might want to think about how Europe effed them over (mostly GB) with the colony thing then the resulting Pakistan-India bruh ha ha. I find the Indian fantasy movie "RRR" entertaining and I bet a lot of Indian's feel the sentiment displayed in the movie regarding GB. Funny and entertaining.

Apple has used Corning's glass (like Gorilla Glass and Ceramic Shield) for iPhone and Apple Watch screens since 2007.
Previously, (like today) it was manufactured in Corning facilities in the US (Kentucky), South Korea, Taiwan, and China. Now, all production will shift to Kentucky.

@zerohedge
AAPL will somehow invest $600 billion in the US in the next four years in the US when its total capex in the past 4 years was $43 billion.

Gullible:
adjective
easily fooled or cheated
especially quick to believe something that is not true
  • I'm not gullible enough to believe something that outrageous.
  • They sell overpriced souvenirs to gullible tourists.

Was that the big announcement? LOL. Phone glass to be made in USA? Welp, I guess it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Some body on Tucker show said the US policy or contingency is to blow up TSMC plants in Taiwan incase China decides to invade Taiwan. Don't think US manufacturing cost will be different then Taiwan, since it's mostly automated and require highly skilled engineers.

You'd think sand (silicon) would be cheaper here. LOL
