Excerpts from our government's National Institute of Health cancer site ==>> Cigarette Smoke Components and Disease: Cigarette Smoke Is More Thana Triad of Tar, Nicotine, and Carbon Monoxide :

"Cigarette smoke is a complex mixture of chemicals. Some smoke components, such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), and nitrogen oxides, are gases. Others, such as formaldehyde, acrolein, benzene, and certain N-nitrosamines, are volatile chemicals contained in the liquidvapor portion of the smoke aerosol. Still others, such as nicotine, phenol, polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and certain tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs), are contained in the submicron-sized solid particles that are suspended in cigarette smoke."
and
"Both smokers and nonsmokers can incur adverse health effects from the smoke of burning cigarettes."
OK, so our own government's NIH recogizes the health risks to non-smokers from secondary cigarette smoke but they are instead turning their attention to pollutants from gas stoves? And the problem of excessive, dangerous pollution from the gas stoves can be mitigated with proper ventilation? It's that simple? Just install a sufficiently-sized, powered exhaust vent hood that vents outdoors? No more dangerous pollutants and meals can be cooked and the home can now be safely heated?

What a bunch of idiots. :screwy:
