Hey,

I have a Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I that is currently running Firmware Version V5.1.2 build 140116. The UI is entirely in english, I would like to update this camera to the latest firmware. Can someone point me to where I can find this firmware, and advise if this is a good idea or not? I have been lurking on these forums a while reading about some of the issues upgrading firmware on these cams, but seeing as how mine is already in english... am I out of the woods?

Open up the cameras web GUI look at its serial number if it has cch don’t touch it
If it has wr it would be ok
Look up the Europe portal they have the firmware for your camera

Thanks for the fast reply, I wasnt able to find the firmware file on the EU portal.. but a bit of googling brought me to a software repo where I found the 5.4.5 drivers IPC_R0_EN_STD_V5.4.5_Build170123.

Is it safe to flash this straight to the camera, or do I need to do an incremental upgrade procedure?

All three are there on the portal

You have c/ in the file it’s best to down load the firmware if it’s zipped
On your desktop make a new folder mark it as hikvision R0 camera v 5.x.x
To what version you are upgrading too, then unzip to that folder on the desktop
When you are in the web GUI browse to that folder then you will see the file click on it you should see only digicap.dav in the bar then hit upgrade
