Unable to wake WiFi camera from app

So,
I bought a Chinese camera, and it worked great for a year. Suddenly, I can no longer wake the camera up using the app (v360 pro). This is a battery-operated camera that works in low-power mode. When it’s in this mode, it becomes unreachable. However, if I enable PIR detection, the camera wakes up when it detects motion, and I can connect to it. I also noticed that the camera’s IP is listed in the router, and I can ping it even when it’s in sleep mode. Off course I’m asking because it worked before, it can be in sleep mode for 4 months and simple connection from the app made the camera live again…

Sounds like a Firmware change or something within the camera that was changed from the time you first got the camera Might have even been something within the cloud that wakes it up.. In truth the cameras like this are more of a toy and should never be used as only form of Security for protection of ones property or loved ones.. Main reason is the company can just pack and be gone most times without even having access to the camera anymore and you are stuck having to buy a different camera.. I would look at replacing it with Dahua or Hikvision and or any of many of the OEM providers.

Thanks for your reply
actually, this one is indeed a toy and only cost ~30usd, just to catch some unwanted action in the back yard…
The camera’s firmware always says “up to date” and I guess they update it automatically or never at all, the app on the other hand, is being updated on a weekly basis, “bug fixes” the notes say…
I did uninstall and reinstall the app and reset the camera to factory default, with no help..

@Try this one did you solve the problem? I'm facing exactly the same issue, since the end of 2024 I cannot see the camera live stream in the v360pro app but the alarms work fine and I still receive the notifications. If I try to factory reset the camera, then I can connect to it for the very first few minutes after the new setup, but as soon as the camera sleeps, then I cannot access the live stream anymore, even though the alarms triggered by the motion detection and notifications still work just fine.

One more test that I did is to configure the camera to always be online (no sleeping) and I can access the live stream for the whole day, but the following day I cannot access it anymore.

The camera is connected to the WiFi, I can see the IP address from the router. The camera firmware hasn't changed since January 2024, and upgrading or downgrading the v360 app doesn't help either.

So, I’m just guessing that no one else but us is experiencing this issue, so I suppose it is a hardware issue and not firmware or network issue…

Edit:
I tried just now to disable the device wake-up and detection and got the message, so….will not be able to be woken up. That is new and I guess they do not allow wake up from app anymore, it is just odd that it’s only us
