Hi all,

I am looking for a DS-2CD2632F-IS camera. On eBay plenty of sellers offer these cameras but I'd like to hear about previous experiences.
I am aware of the fact that I cannot update the 5.2 firmware to newer versions. In addition, technical support will be very limited or missing.
Anyone care to share some sellers that turned out to be ok?

Best

Just my advice, go thru an authorized Hik supplier so that you save yourself the headache. Contact milkisbad on here. He will help you.

Hi Blake,

Thanks, I already contacted Milkisbad. I do live in Europe, don't know if he ships to my country. In addition, i checked some local suppliers and prices for DS-2CD2632F-IS vary from 420-600 euros whereas on eBay I can purchase one for ~150 euro.
So you can imagine I'd still like to investigate the merits of acquiring one from eBay.

+1 @RyanODan of Nelly's Security is also a very good fellow.

I understand. What you might save on the price/shipping initially, you lose as far as support and warranty.

I'm an alarm guy and have recently started into the survellience side of the house. There is no way I would start skimming and have to deal with the headache. My customers really like the fact of a three year warranty. Also my local supply house sells Hikvision.

Why the DS-2CD2632F-IS? I have two, one went bad. They are large and hard to focus manually. The Huisun 10x, while unproven is a better deal imho.

Thanks, I'l look into the Huisun 10x. Nice to hear to actual experiences. Do you own the Huisun 10x as well?

Forget the Huisun until more opinions and time of usage is reported.

I continue to like the 4MP Hikvision EXIR Turrets and I hear that the Dahua turrets also function well.

Didn't intend to blow your opinion off Dalepa...no offense intended brother. I've been Jonesin' for one of those Huisun 10x babies myself...but the rave reviews have cooled a bit over the last couple of weeks and more time will provide a clearer perspective on the long-term viability of the 10x. In addition, there is the FOV issue for those who need a FOV wider than the 10x's 5.1mm starting point. My $0.02 as always...YMMV!

I tried to sell a similar one in the classifieds a couple of weeks ago but ended up selling it on fleabay.

Just be aware that those suckers are pretty big if WAF comes into play.

I looked up the fixed bullet cams from Hikvision The DS-2CD2032F-I(W) seemed to be ok so I ebayed it. Prices are much lower as compared to the ones of the DS-2CD2632F-I(S). Is that only because of the vari focal option? Or will the DS-2CD2632F-I(S) produced higher quality video?

With the 2CD2632F-I(S), you get the varifocal lens and audio as well over the, the varifocal is nice to have but you will never really adjust it once it is mounted.

If you know the lens you need for your camera going with a fixed lens will be much cheaper and they are much smaller as well.
