I believe the API key might happen at install automatically, can't say for sure if this requires internet or not though. Believe in previous versions interaction was required to install the key, ie downloaded.

The API key was for older versions and is not needed now.
When DS first came out, I downloaded that version of BI and DS on an old computer and then disconnected the internet from the computer and ran the .exe and everything worked fine (well other than it being slow lol because it was an old computer lol).
