Here is a demo of tinyCam Monitor PRO (http://tinycammonitor.com/) running on Android device with 24/7 recording on motion.

In live view move cursor on camera (popup icons should appear) and press Play icon to see recorded events.

MORE INFO REGARDING SETUP:
1. tinyCam Monitor PRO app runs on Amazon Fire TV 1st Gen ($90).
2. No monitor connected to Fire TV device. Tried to use Fire TV 2nd Gen, but it switches off automatically after some time if no HDMI source connected.
3. Fire TV connected to the router via Ethernet.
4. Fire TV CPU usage is about 20-25%. Device temperature is very low.
5. Two H.264 cameras are enabled in the app. For both cameras "In-app motion detection" and "Record on motion to local storage" enabled in Camera Setting in the app.
6. For each camera recordings allocated 1.5GB. Old recordings are deleted automatically if space limit reached.
7. "Auto start web server on boot" and "Auto start background mode on boot" enabled in App Settings. Needed to autostart this DVR if device rebooted for some reason.
8. Setup is very stable. Runs for weeks without any reboot.

Some users have reported using this 50$ device as Android DVR with tinyCam

Alex, FYI: i've not been able to view anything other then the live view. Using Chrome. The video download appears to hang.

Just double checked. Chrome Browser (stable channel) shows video perfectly on both Mac and Windows 10.

Good info. Any other posts/use cases about people using tinyCam Pro for several cameras using an old Android phone or other devices? Thanks

Most people use IP Webcam app (IP Webcam - Android Apps on Google Play) or SpyNet app (spyNet Cloud IP Camera - Android Apps on Google Play) on another old Android devices to run as IP cameras.

There is a FAQ section in the app regarding that.
tinyCam Monitor | FAQ

4. How can I connect to my webcam/USB camera?

You need to install on your PC either webcamXP, AbelCam or Yawcam software which support USB cams broadcasting. For the vendor name select Windows in tinyCam Monitor's Camera Settings.

For Mac computers we support AirBeam, EvoCam, RemoteSight (recommended), SecuritySpy software.

For Linux we support Motion, MJPG-streamer, ZoneMinder.

For Android - IP Webcam Pro (recommended), FRITZ!App Cam, Camera WiFi LiveStream, Ocular IP Camera.

For iOS - AirBeam, IP Cam Pro, iPCamera - High-End Network Camera (recommended).

For Windows Phone - IP Camera (ShenYao China)

Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean using an old phone as a camera, I meant using an old phone to record. I just saw this: Background Mode (DVR mode) in tinyCam Monitor and was wondering if anyone has used this to record from multiple cameras. I understand there are limits and was just wondering user experiences.

Your old phone should have at least Android 4.3 to be able to record MP4 files.

Hi All,
I don´t know the Amazon Fire TV 2nd Gen. I´d like to buy it to use with the Tinycam Monitor PRO.
Is there any way to solve it ?
"Tried Fire TV 2nd Gen, but it switches off automatically after some time if no HDMI source connected."

Thanks a lot!
