Back in town. I appreciate you guys. I tried all the suggestions above. I had the i frame interval set to double the FPS, but setting it to parity didn't seem to improve the delay. Switched "limit decoding" to "off" and also disabled overlays. Minimal effect on delay. You're right Mike I don't understand that feature. None of the cams were set to multicast, so that was a wash. Thanks for the tip, though, catcamstar. Checked out the path and it is gigabit all the way, pozello. Still, I think you are correct, Fenderman, in that it is a network delay. I hooked up a spare camera directly to the POE switch and, curiously, the delay was only 2 or 3 seconds.
