I have a sports facility and am looking to stream some video in house (to remote TVs) and on the web.

Aside from that the camera should be able to:
- withstand a hit from a volleyball going 40-50mph (vandal resistant dome?)
- have a field of view that can covers at least 40' wide from a distance of 25' away

Night vision is not important

Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

GoPro? You can live stream off them, they can capture high FPS needed for sports and a ton of professional production companies use them (Top Gear, Mythbusters, etc)... I think it'd be more appropriate than an IPCamera

A GoPro would also be more complex. Requiring a nearby PC at the very least. A vandal resistant dome is supposedly designed to take hits from baseball bats, rocks, etc. I would think a stray volleyball would be of little concern to one of those.

I would recommend one with a 2.8mm lens for that wide of a view.

If image quality and audio quality is more important though, then I'd consider the GoPro.

if he's streaming it to tv's and internets he's going to need an intermediate PC regardless.. If he wants the video online after the game the GoPro will have a much much better master copy.

Ive seen drones fall hundreds of feet from the sky and end up in a pile of tiny bits; but the GoPro was unscathed.. I think it'd take a baseball to the face and survive, especially with the case.

most security cameras do 1080p at 30fps and that volleyball will barely be visible, a GoPro can do 60fps 1080p and 120fps 720p and will keep up with a volleyball game no problem and a later youtube posting would be excellent in comparison to a security camera of the same cost.

Obviously, if you just want local viewing from one camera onto several screens, a local IP camera feeding into a desktop or laptop and then duplicating that signal to some screens on the wall is easy.

The online part becomes a bit more adventurous, as you get into broadcasting tv basically.

Along with what Nayr suggested regarding a GoPro, - which would also open up some options for other live footage before and after the game - wouldn't just be a fly on the wall camera; as long as you have extra power for the go pro ... you could treat it like a super compact camcorder.

Since you want online, I have seen ads for livestream and livestream broadcaster.

I thought ustream.tv service had a limited free account with ad support; but can't find that any more; for fee only, after initial trial.

But wasn't there talk that gopro was going to have streaming built-in?

Which I didn't hear about with the announcement of go pro 4 yesterday, only the 4k 30zh with price hike and no remote.

I guess it really depends on the situation. If this is going to be used for specific scheduled events like a school volleyball game every week or two where there would be a person present to manage the system, a GoPro would deliver far better quality than an IP camera. But if you are looking for an always-on system for day-to-day stuff then an IP camera would almost certainly be easier.

wont be HD live video but if your TV's are not HD and/or are wired to an analogue video system it will be a cake to patch in live video with virtually no delay.. Would require no intermediate PC except for livecasting it on the internet.

can also be paired with a wireless video transmitter if you wanted to put it right into the action or move it about

Hi, I would go for AXIS P3215-V (no audio) or P3365-V (internal microphone or external audio input). Both fullHD, varifocal lenses with max about 90° horizontal FoV, vandal resistant dome cover. Put CamStreamer application (http://camstreamer.com) on board of camera and you have a nice solution for free live streaming via YouTube.
