Did those people take the flower box??
You are right. The flower box is gone in some of the photos and the flowers are in the water in some of the other photos. It does not look like the boat that hit the pier did it. Looks like something else happened. I was primarily looking at the boats and the people and did not notice it.

So the 3 homes, ours in the middle, are all heavily renovated and nothing like the rest of the park. Add to it our "million dollar view", the cove, and the island across from us, it really is a great little place in the swamp. Lots of ducks, birds, Heron, the occasional seal and manatee, and of course Gators. Its become part of the regular tour boat route of the Dora Canal. (the Dora Canal is just the other side of those 200ft cypress trees)

Years ago when the tour boats made our little cove a regular stop, Mom and the neighbor were always putting things out for the sightseers. Most of these folks are Snowbirds. So the snow shovel you see says "Rust in Peace" on it and the neighbor has an overhang porch which has a skeleton with a pirates hat and an empty bottle of rum with a fishing pole.

The way they all look so gleefully back towards the camera tells me something more interesting was going on there than just ordinary stuff. I think Mr bigredfish and Mrs.bigredfish were being naughty that day! :winktongue:

The Dora Canal is a pretty popular attraction connecting two moderately busy lakes. Enclosed by a canopy of very old 200ft cypress trees, its like taking a jungle ride within minutes of civilization.

Our little canal sits just off it and we get a fair amount of tourists/snowbirds just looking around, tour boats, and bass fishermen. Normally 10-20 any given day, but nice Spring weekends before the snowbirds go home it gets busy
