Today I caught a police chase. The guy runs down the block (no shoes) with a police office chasing on foot.

The bad guy trips trying to go up some stairs, that is the end of the chase - they put the metal bracelets on him.

Thought it would be fun to edit together footage from three cameras.

I spent about 4 hours working on it and have given up with much frustration. It should not be this hard.

I just want a basic editing software that can cut and transition some basic footage. I've used OpenShot in the past, but it is no longer working and just crashes.

Everyone who posts in this group wants to do the same thing, we are not making action movies, we do not need some super complex software. To do the editing I want should take about 10 minutes and be done with it.

What do you use to do basic editing to post in this channel?

I used da vinci resolve for a video once. The learning curve was more than I would have liked for simple tasks.

Windows 10 has a built in video editor that allows you to edit, trim, and splice videos fairly easily.

Yea, I tried that. This is what it did to the video.

Check out cyberlink powerdirector. I find it to be a good medium between simple movie maker and much harder resolve / sony vegas

Thanks! I got powerdirector working, it does not crash and was fairly easy to use. Will post the clip shortly.
