Getting Fired From My School - Warren Smith

Last Monday I was fired from my school after 4 years of teaching. I recorded this the following day in order to share my perspective - honestly & in good faith - in order to move forward and put this experience behind me. I have no desire to cause complications or bring unwanted attention to the school, so I will not divulge anything beyond that. It is important to me to be able to speak truthfully and honestly about one of the most challenging periods in the story of my life, in order to move onto a new chapter. I hope we all can respect one another's privacy, freedom of speech, and treat each other with dignity - even in challenging times.

Getting Fired From My School - Warren Smith

I don't like sharks, but its time for this man to lawyer up. He is sitting on a Gold Mine. Again, they bloody your nose, you break their knee caps. As for his 'computer', if it was school property, it was never his regardless. I don't understand this part. Was his personal computer confiscated in a raid? Or was he dumb enough to store personal items and information on a pc that wasn't his own?

Sounds like a work laptop .. and yes, like many people - he seems to have not followed good IT principles on it .. I've had to deal with this sort of issue countless times .. people take the easiest path and fail to prepare for what could happen.

But SJ, you are right. He put personal info on a work computer? Did not back it up? Writing a novel on that computer and not back it up? Especially if as he stated that he expected something to happen a month ago.
