Text overlay from file on network drive

I have a txt file that gets written to a network drive that I would like to use as text overlay on my cameras. I know in Settings -> Macros I can set a macro to a file. I tried using "\\ip-address\folder\textfile.txt" as the filename, and then when I add the text overlay in the Camera Properties -> Video -> Edit Overlay screen, I can see the text show up, but when I close the setting screen, and the camera refreshes, nothing shows. Any ideas??

Was able to solve the issue by running BI as a service under my user name, not the system name. The network link to the filename worked fine. (Though interestingly I still couldn't see the mapped network drive ie: "Z:/network" in the list of available drives).
