I have a Dahua 4216-8P-4K NVR. I want to be able to telnet into it, but telnet is currently disabled on the NVR. There is also no option in the menus to enable it. Is there a trick or a way to enable telnet into it?

I looked on the menus in the console, web interface, and in SmartPSS for both Windows and Mac, but there's nothing to enable telnet on the NVR.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Those who have their internal networks firewalled and are unix savvy would heavily appreciate telnet access, and would differ with you. It should be disabled by default, but should not be removed completely, as it allows for a lot of customizations which you otherwise won't be able to do with their simple menus.

I heard you can enable telnet on hikvision using their Windows client

For hikvision, telnet has been removed, only PSH remains. I also got dahua new equipment, seem can be telnet. You can try on port scan to see if the PORT23 opened
