What do folks find is the best lens for a fixed focal length camera?

I have one camera that will pointed down a driveway to a farm entrance about 300 feet away. Another cam will be looking up to 100 feet away in pasture. One camera will be looking 25 feet away into a 100 feet wide yard. Another cam will be looking at a 100 foot section of another driveway from 90 degrees perpendicular -- from about 75 feet away.
Use the IPVM calculator to overlay actual camera models on a satellite overlay of your property. It really helps in determining which focal length might be appropriate for your location and goals (DORI measurements for example). Just keep in mind that it is really only useful for that task. It won't tell you what quality of image you can expect from the hardware.

As noted however, you will need some pretty narrow focal lengths if you expect to get "identifiable" footage of subjects that far away from the cameras. To reach out 300' you will need a PTX camera with a min of a 25x optical zoom.

In the IPcamTalk store, it has Univision wall mounts and junction box mounts. Will those fit Dahua cams?

I did not see anywhere else to ask .......
