Hi all,

I have a older swann dvr8-3425 which I am trying to view in blue iris, but nothing I try seems to work. I am able to view my cameras using the tinycam pro without issues, so I assumed that blue iris should be able to view them as well. All I see is "No Signal" My dvr settings has server port of 9000 and HTTP port of 85. Does any one have any suggestion to getting the camera to display or is my dvr just not compatible with blueiris? Thanks in advance.

If Tinycam works, BI will work also...just needs the right IP,, user/pass, port(s), camera # and video stream URL.

Can you provide a screenshot of the video config page in BI for that DVR?

Also the URL used in Tinycam?

I am not sure how to get a url from Tinycam.. I just entered the ip address for the dvr.... I picked DVR4-4200 which is not my DVR but it works. In BlueIris, I am not sure what else needs to be added. In tinycam, I don't even have add a password and it works. Thank you for talking a look at it.

After you put in the IP address did you let the find/inspect do its thing and pick what it felt was the best?

If so, now change the Cam# that is below the model and above the stream on the add camera page. Some of these NVRs are off on number - so it might be one off or 10 off. Try like camera 2 and then camera 5, camera 10, etc.

BI will probably need your user and PW. When you hit find/inspect does it show any failed comments?

I tried the find/inspect. See attached. I tried your suggestions as well and same results.

So it looks like it sees it, but it might not have the right username or something is tripping it up. Bringing in a feed from a DVR or NVR can sometimes be a little tricky to find the right combination. Probably not it, but try the https option as well. Try the main stream without the \ and just leave it blank. Are you adding the :85 or did BI - if you added it, try without it.

Download VLC if you do not have it on your computer and find the video feed that way - many have also found that to be a useful tool to find the right combination needed.

I tried with without adding the :85 and I get different error as seen in attachement. I will download VLC and see what I can find. Thanks again.

I just looked at mine bringing an older one in (not swann though) and it liked :9000 at the end.

Open up the option that says Open Network Stream and then type in the URL of the NVR. Something like: rtsp:/NVR Address/channel1 - it should give you some examples to try to. You may need to try the option with user and password too. As soon as you find the combination there, then you can try to match it in BI.

That is quite odd, especially since Tinycam see's it.

Hopefully someone with that DVR chimes in.

Sorry to put you through this but are you up to trying some of those URL's in VLC as you did but this time leave the user/pass off (VLC will ask) but append at the end of the IP the port with a colon, like ":85"?

Variations of this as you did above: "rtsp:/192.168.86.47:85/Streaming/Unicast/channels/101"

If any work then you can work with the user/pass.
