ssh access to full shell possible in v5.3.8?

Hi,

I'm trying to get full shell access by ssh to firmware v5.3.8 (international 2CD2142), to avoid that crippled protected shell (psh).

This hint unfortunately doesn't work for me, it doesn't accept my admin password. ("Permission denied. Please try again."). Is it working for anybody in newer fw-versions? Thanks.

Hikvision removed SSH from these cameras from 5.3.5 - they don't even have it running behind the scenes.

That relates to 2xx5/3xx5 cameras which are not the same as the OP is referring to (those do have SSH)

Oh my bad. I knew I would trip up on those chinese cameras one day.
