I have just set up one of these cameras and there's a nasty little catch:
Steps I went through:
- installed iOS app on iPhone
- reset camera
- went through config on app, failed on wifi, used the 'QR Code' method to configure camera with wifi & password
- Camera appeared on router with a local dynamic address 10.1.1.n
- Could get an ONVIF stream displaying on PC via VLC so wireless connection ok
- Added it as a new device within App on Phone
- App would NOT connect to device despite it showing as green.
==> breakthrough <==
- App would connect to device when the phone was outside the local network, ie not 10.1.1.* network

It appears that the app does not use the IP address of the camera to connect directly but must go via the (Chinese?) external server for identification and back into the network again. I assume the local router NAT table wold not distinguish the shared port for both outgoing and incoming traffic: much like tying to view an internal network camera using the external IP address.

Odd thing is I can't telnet to the camera either - connection refused. Is telnet not using 23?
