Split a Cat6 cable purchase? Suggestions for alternative?

Thanks to everyone for such illuminating responses. Now that I know that plenum cable is not required for my project, I will wait for a 500' roll of Cat6 cable. Looking at local Craigslist from time to time as well.

In the meantime, the cameras have been rolling in, PoE switches acquired, Dell Optiplex 9020M with 16GB RAM and SSD acquired, BlueIris and remote installed and readied, VPN installed and LOTS of time figuring out optimal locations, lighting, configurationss and motion settings.

I have a roll of cat5e UTP outdoor cable that I would like to use POE to connect on shortish runs up to max of 25m (75ft) for my Installation.
It is solid core copper not sure if it is 24 or 26 awg but after reading the above post I will use instead of buying cat6!!

Just want to comment that I appreciate the polite and informed back-and-forth on this topic--very informative and impressive. Strikes me a bit as what some might characterize as a "religious issue". But thanks to several of you!
