Greeting all,

1st post, hello.

I am asking for some suggestions on a dvr/nvr, cameras too maybe, but mainly dvr.

I plan on hooking it up directly to 12v solar setup, so power consumption is a concern.

Ill most likely set it up for motion detection, it must use wifi for the cameras, and the option to record to a SD card would help (less power)

If it had a sim card slot to send notifications , this would be a bonus. (only dvr's I see with this are Mdvr, but Im not sure these support wifi cameras)

A 4 CH or 8ch option for a reasonable cost, would be nice.

If some camera suggestions, or a kit are to follow, the camera should support 100+M wifi, have motion, the ability to back up record to sd, while recording to dvr, always nice. ~50m night vision, and of course the power thing. these will also be running on a 12v battery

Cost....

well $500 with 2-3 cameras ?

Well, since it appears this kinda nvr is difficult to find..

does anyone know of a mdvr that supports wifi IP camera ?

nope, Wifi IP cameras are a total waste of time and money.. nobody here's going to recommend em.

Hi Nayr, thanks for the reply.

I was looking for a DVR recommendation 1st, perhaps camera 2nd.

A WiFi capable DVR may also have support for wired cams too.
