SMTP won't work

The SMTP Email settings will not work. I've tried it with Gmail and the only way it will work is if I set gmail to allow less secure apps to access your account which i rather not do

I've also tried hotmail and godaddy smtp servers which I've used in other situations without fail but for some reason will not work here

I've ensured my firewall is open on all ports for blue iris tools. Also i know it worked when gmail was set to low security so it isn't the firewall. Any other ideas?

Simply setup a new gmail account and use it exclusively to send alerts...problem solved.
