smart PSS freezes on Mac

I'm trying to run smart PSS on mac (10.11.6), I can see the NVR on the network, and on Config. But when I run Smart PSS 2.0 it seems to just open and hang after I put in the password.

I assume it's looking for a plugin or something? Or am I missing something else?

Note, I just installed it on a windows 7 laptop and it seems to be working fine, so the issue is Mac specific

Works okay for me. Did you put it in your Application directory?

So bizarrely I got it working. I'm not precisely sure how. I think the trick is using Firefox instead of chrome, which let me download certain plugins... But after accessing the camera's and everything directly through firefox, I can now use the mac version. Which is great, since my windows 7 laptop is a Sony vaio, and that was after Sony decided they'd like to make bad computers...
